Where do you get the stones?

I find them along the Pacific Northwest Coast as well as working with stones collected by customers.

Are the jewelry pieces heavy?

No actually they are lighter then you think. I chose stones that are comfortable to wear.

Do you tumble the stones?

No. The ocean and rivers tumble them for me.

I use diamond saws and diamond drill bits.

How do you cut the stones?

I patina the silver and then clean it to show the textures and details.

It gives an aesthetic of old, distressed metal.

Why is the metal (silver) darkened?

Use a dry paste of baking soda and scrub your pieces with a toothbrush or fingers, rinse with hot water and let it dry. Put some oil on a rag and rub the stones with it.
